Originates from Western America and flowers from May to June.Camassia grow in the wild in great numbers in moist meadows and sometimes color whole meadows. They are perennial plants with basal linear leaves and the six-petaled flowers vary in color from pale lilac or white to deep purple or blue-violet. The flowers produce both male and female organs and are pollinated by bees, and are noted for attracting wildlife.Common names include Camas, Quamash, Indian hyacinth, and Wild hyacinth and they can be seen at Marks Hall near the Taxodium Swamp.
