Membership

Marks Hall covers some 2,300 acres and is owned by the Thomas Phillips Trust. Since the Trust’s establishment in 1971 great progress has been made in restoring earlier neglect and dereliction of this historic estate. It is now a place where visitors can enjoy peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings – although much work still needs to be done.

As a registered charity the Trust is dependent on its own resources and the valued support of visitors, members and volunteers to achieve its aims. By becoming a member you are supporting the valuable work the Trust undertakes in not only restoring but developing Marks Hall for future generations.

You may help us further by donating to our fundraising programmes for special projects or by making regular donations to our General Appeal Fund. Volunteering for a wide range of activities also greatly assists our work in the Gardens, Arboretum and Visitor Centre.

By becoming a Member you are entitled to….

  • Admission to the Gardens, Arboretum and way marked walks.

  • A pass code to the Gardens and Arboretum giving you access on days when it is normally closed, and use of a designated car park. Your code also gives you access to the toilet located next to the Coach House.

  • Details of forthcoming events sent directly to you.

  • A complimentary copy of the Trust’s annual newsletter which includes articles about Marks Hall and details of new and future developments.

Gift Aid

If you tick the Gift Aid Declaration box on our membership form, we are able to make more of your membership payment, at no extra cost to yourself. If you are a UK taxpayer we can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate of tax you paid on the money you are giving. The value of your payment will be increased by 28p for every pound that you give if you use Gift Aid. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax and the basic rate in your Self Assessment return, so you can afford to give even more.
