Christmas Festivities at Marks Hall

Marks Hall Arboretum in winter

Published: December 2009

Sunday 20th December is the eve of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year as well as being the weekend before Christmas. We shall be celebrating here at Marks Hall: COME AND JOIN US!

Firstly singers from Halstead Choral Society will be bringing traditional carols to us between about 1.00 and 2.00, and we shall, of course, be serving lunch for those who would like sustenance as they listen and join in.

After this we have something new for you. Lorraine Barfoot, who has become Marks Hall’s storyteller in residence during the year, will be Telling a Tale for a Winter’s Afternoon . All you have to do is to sit back, listen and enjoy. All the family will be welcome, this is not just for youngsters, it is for everyone to enjoy a special atmosphere at Marks Hall.

We will also be offering you a glass of something warm and spicy, and a selection of tasty nibbles …………….

There is no extra charge for this, just saying thank you for your support this year and we look forward to seeing you throughout 2010.
