Heritage Lottery Fund Grant - The story so far....

Published: August 2010
The Arboretum team have made huge progress with the hard paths and the core foundation is now complete to the Walled Garden and beyond, looping back to the Coach House. The remaining section, past the Mansion site and down the hill to meet the new bridge and access point, is being constructed at the moment and will be completed once the bridge has been installed. This is scheduled for the beginning of September. During the course of this stage of work the top layer of crushed granite will be added to the hard paths already in place.
There are a number of other projects underway as part of our Heritage Lottery Grant. With the construction process underway a group of students from Honywood School have been researching information for the new interpretation boards, which will focus on the Walled Garden, the Honywood Oak, Bat conservation and the Mansion site.
Work has also begun on a new Arboretum leaflet incorporating more detail on the planting and the thinking behind these decisions.
