Living History Day

Published: May 2009
An opportunity to explore life as it would have been at Marks Hall.
In Roman Times: urban life with the scribe, architect and surveyor, potter, basket maker, weaver, metal worker, and soldiers all going about their daily business
During the Civil War as Sir Thomas Honywood’s militia sets up camp, they practise their musket and archery skills, then entertain themselves with eating and dancing
As the Second World War transformed the landscape with the airfield and a camp that was home to 3,000 people at one time
Through ‘Tales From Trees’ as our very own storyteller looks at Marks Hall from her viewpoint
Join us on Sunday 28th June from 10.30am until 4.00pm to enjoy all this; and, of course, an ample supply of home made refreshments of all kinds!
