Common name Sikkim Fir, can be found in both temperate climates (China) and tropical (Bhutan, India and Nepal). It is registered as an endangered species and can be seen in the Asian section of the Arboretum, near the Korean Glade. The black-purple cones disintegrate at maturity to release the winged seeds.
