Azara microphylla

Azara microphylla

Published: April 2011

Azara microphylla is a large evergreen shrub or small tree, with very small glossy dark green leaves.  It produces little yellow sprigs of flowers that burst from buds on the underside of the branches, and generates the most amazing vanilla/chocolate scent from late spring.  The Azara microphylla originates for South America and is one of the hardier varieties and is doing brilliantly in our Walled Garden, definitely one not to be missed at the moment.
