Koelreuteria paniculata

Published: July 2006
Provides a variety of colour, displaying green leaves at the start of summer evolving to panicles of yellow flowers which hang down from the branches towards the end of summer and then through Autumn red fruits are apparent amongst the yellow leaves. It has been given a variety of names including, ‘Pride of India’, ‘China-tree’ and ‘Goldenrain-tree’. It is usually planted in small numbers but at Marks Hall we decided to plant a small wood of this lovely tree instead, which is located beyond the Millennium Walk.
