Viburnum carlesii

One of the most popular of all shrubs, rounded with downy leaves, which are dull green above and greyish beneath.  It has sensational daphne-like scent in April and May when the pink buds open to reveal rounded clusters of tiny white flowers.  The Viburnum carlesii can be found at the top end of the lower lake on the bank.
