Marks Hall Estate is delighted to be hosting the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition between 29th November 2019 and 23rd February 2020.

Explore our beautiful arboretum, lakeside gardens and miles of leafy woodland walks while enjoying some of the very best garden photography taken in green spaces across the world.

The exhibition will be on display in the grounds of Marks Hall Estate between 29th November 2019 and 23rd February 2020, where visitors will be able to explore some of the best images from IGPOTY, including the winning photo taken by British photographer Jill Welham.

The International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is run in association with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and focuses on garden, plant, flower and botanical photography. The main exhibition is held annually at Kew, with a rolling programme of touring exhibitions in the UK and all over the world, including the University of Cambridge Botanical Gardens, National Trust Sissinghurst Castle, Blarney Castle, Ireland and Herrenhäuser Gärten in Germany.

The competition consists of nine regular categories each year including favourites such as ‘The Beauty of Plants’, ‘Beautiful Gardens’ and ‘Abstract Views’, and there are four photo projects and numerous seasonal special awards including ‘Captured at Kew’.  Entries are welcome from amateurs and professionals alike, from any country in the world, and the competition attracts individual entries in excess of 20,000 annually.
