If you book a package with the 48 hour hire you are more than welcome to come in the day before. If it a 24 hour hire then we will do our best to accommodate you the day before. Can we hang decorations? Yes you are more than welcome to hand decorations from our beams, light rings and wall beams as long as you do not use pins, nails or staple guns. Are we allowed confetti? We do allow you to use confetti in the form of dried petals as this complements the flower garden. How many people can the venue hold? We can seat 140 people for a ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 200 people for an party. Can we have fireworks? Due to the nature of the historical arboretum we do not allow fireworks or Chinese lanterns. Do you have different chairs and tables? The all-inclusive package comes with different chair options, sashes and covers. We have enough tables for an all-round layout or all trestles. Can we have candles in the venue? You are more than welcome to have candles and candelabras in the Coach House during the wedding breakfast however at 7pm all candles have their flames covered completely in a jam jar or hurricane lantern. Can you play our music? Yes we have both an outdoor and indoor pa system that allows us to play different playlists throughout the day. We use Spotify and download all of your music the day before your wedding onto our system, so that’s one less thing to worry about. Do you have a microphone for speeches? Yes we have a table microphone for the wedding ceremony and a wireless microphone for the speeches and announcing. What time does the bar close? The bar will close at 11:30. A late licence can be applied for which costs £250 per hour part thereof. Can we bring our own alcohol? Only drinks supplied by us may be consumed at your wedding. All weddings must include a Marks Hall drinks package and use the bar service. Anyone found brining in alcohol not brought from the Marks Hall will be asked to leave the venue. Do you have high chairs? Yes we have four high chairs on site that you are more than welcome to use. It’s a long walk to the walled garden for our photos… Don’t worry, our hire price come with a golf buggy. It’s available for one hour after your arrival or ceremony and comes with a handy guide who knows the Arboretum inside out. Do we have to use your DJ? We are flexible with our package and you can remove our DJ and either upgrade to the band or take out the entertainment completely and provide your own. The venue does have a sound limiter which we would discuss with your evening entertainment provider. Can we have our ceremony outside? Yes you are more than welcome to have your ceremony under our garden gazebo, under the marquees or in the glorious coach house. Are the registrar fees included? The fee for your civil ceremony is not included in our fees. Please contact Braintree registry office for details on 0345 6037632. Do the prices include VAT? Yes all of our prices include VAT, there are no hidden fees. What if the weather isn’t very nice? Our Chinese hat marquees on the terrace give you ample space for your guests to admire the beautiful flower garden whilst congratulating you on your wedding. The Coach House has heating available if required and the barn itself is cool in the summer months.
