Markshall Christmas Wish Tree – Give a Gift that Grows

At Markshall, we work tirelessly throughout the year to care for our stunning gardens, woodlands, and visitor centre — a true labour of love. But as a charity, we rely on donations to help maintain the beauty of the estate and ensure its future. This holiday season, we invite you to make a difference in a unique and meaningful way.

Save a Tree, Make a Markshall Wish

This year, instead of sending a traditional Christmas card, why not donate to help sustain the estate and save a tree in the process? We’ve created a special Wish Tree at Markshall where you can hang your chosen Markshall wish in honour of a loved one, friend, or in memory of someone special. Your gesture will support the estate’s ongoing care while spreading the joy of the season.

How it Works:

  1. Choose your area of support: Select the part of the estate you would like to support, from planting trees to maintaining our beautiful gardens. Your donation will help directly fund the areas that need it most:
    • Bulbs, plants, and seeds: £2800 per year
    • Trees: £4500 per year
    • Gardening tools and equipment: £1700 per year
    • Propagation nursery: £1000 per year
  2. Make a donation: Donate any amount that feels right for you — every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Donations start from just £5. Your generosity will help keep Markshall flourishing and ensure it remains a magical place for all to enjoy.
  3. Hang your wish: After making your donation, we’ll write your chosen Markshall wish on a special tag, which will be hung on the Wish Tree for all to see. You can dedicate your gift to someone special, and if you wish, your wish can also be shared on our social media channels.

This is a wonderful way to give back to nature, support a local charity, and share the Christmas spirit with something truly meaningful. Your donation helps us plan for the year ahead and ensures the Arboretum remains beautiful and accessible for generations to come.
