The Trust was founded by the Thomas Phillips Price Will on 16th February 1933.  The scheme for its regulation was approved and established by the Charity Commission on 15th November 1971.

Marks Hall Estate is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed to oversee the strategic direction of the charity.  The Charity’s objects are ‘the advancement, in the interests of the nation, of agriculture, arboriculture and forestry’.  The Board ensures its decision making supports the work of Marks Hall Estate working within the parameters of the constitution of the Charity.

An experienced staff team is responsible for the day to day management and running of the Estate.  The staff team is appointed by and accountable to the Trustee Board.

The Trustees and staff are supported in their work by volunteers who generously offer their time and enthusiasm across a wide variety of roles. You can find out more about Our People here.
