Broadleaf Firewoods

Broadleaf Firewoods have been supplying high quality seasoned firewood coppiced and processed from the Markshall for over 25 years and we are pleased to have developed a closer relationship regarding firewood supplies.

Our hardwood logs are made up of Ash, Beech, Field Maple, Oak, Lime, Birch and Sycamore all harvested through coppicing from the Markshall and are suitable for both open fires and woodburning stoves. All our logs are fully naturally seasoned in purpose built covered barns with slatted sides and are cross stacked as billets which allows a natural circulating air flow drying the firewood.

As a company we have registered with the Woodsure Ready To Burn Scheme (a copy of our registration certificate is attached) under which we are regularly audited and have to ensure we maintain certain quality criteria, i.e. maximum 20% moisture content of all wood sold. All our logs are fully naturally seasoned in purpose built covered barns with slatted sides and are cross stacked as billets which allows a natural circulating air flow drying the firewood.

This system allows us to meet the Ready To Burn maximum moisture content of 20% requirement through a natural process. There is therefore no necessity for any additional fuel to be used as is with a kiln dried method. Billets are then cut to standard lengths of 9 & 12 inches at time of delivery (although we can accommodate longer lengths if required, please enquire).

Logs are supplied in truck loads of approximately a loose 1m³.
