Glynis Hughes and Liz Pottinger Art Exhibition

Local artists Glynis Hughes and Liz Pottinger have teamed up to create an exhibition including beautiful pieces inspired by Markshall’s unique landscape and the amazing array of wildlife which calls it home.

The pieces are on exhibit in the Orchard Kitchen Café, the pieces can be purchased and a selection of unframed pieces can be purchased from the Admission building. There is no car parking fees nor entry fees to view the pieces. Drinks, lunches and treats can be purchased from the Orchard Kitchen.

Glynis Hughes 

Glynis Hughes is a local artist. She is a qualified textile designer but her passion has always been painting. She creates art and craft in her studio near Sudbury.

She has worked as a freelance designer and as a lecturer in Art & Design and later as a tutor for Braintree College and North Essex Community College. Glynis is a long time member of Suffolk Art Society, she is also a member of the Clare, Lavenham and Coggeshall Art Groups.

She has worked with several different art groups and collaborated with fellow artist Liz Pottinger, working on various community art projects together, including the Big Draw, children’s workshops and 3D exhibitions and projects. They currently jointly run life drawing sessions.

Elizabeth Pottinger

Elizabeth (Liz) Pottinger is a local artist. She has a degree in Art & Design and has always loved drawing and painting. She is also an Applied Artist working with copper, slate and other materials to create jewellery and 3D objects. Liz has a studio in Coggeshall.

Liz worked as a tutor for North Essex Community College teaching adults and worked with adults with physical and mental disabilities. Liz also tutored at Braintree College. She is a member of the Coggeshall Art Group and Suffolk Art Society.

Liz has worked as a freelance tutor teaching several local art groups. She has also been a volunteer for Markshall for many years and supports the preservation of Markshall’s archives.
